Estate assignments are generally prepared on a fair market value basis for probate, estate accounting, and equitable distribution. The report is structured so executors and advisors can use it directly.
After an initial review call and image check, I provide a no-charge estimate and will advise if a formal report is unlikely to be cost-effective.
Please send images of each work (front, back, signature, labels), dimensions, medium, and any known acquisition history. If a collection is large or difficult to photograph, onsite or guided video intake is available.
After scope is confirmed, I research relevant comparables and market context for each piece, then prepare item-level conclusions. Research typically takes between 30 minutes and 4 hours per piece depending on available sales records. The methodology and assumptions are written clearly so the report is usable for professional review.
Reports include object identification, supporting notes, valuation reasoning, and final fair market value conclusions, formatted for estate and legal workflows.
Small files are often completed in about one week once complete information is received. Estate appraisal work is billed at $225 / hr with a 1-hour minimum.
